The Scoop: Projects Taking Shape

This week we checked in on some of our projects in Massachusetts and New Jersey. Here’s the latest on their progress.

Homewood Suites – Worcester, MA

David McCauley, Assistant Project Manager: “The rough framing is ongoing, with current progress up to the 4th floor trusses. As the framing advances up the building, the MEP trades are following behind with coring for rough-in. The underground utility work is nearly complete which will be ready for the slab on grade placement in the next few weeks. The first floor is light gauge framing so fireproofing of steel and installation of hangers is being performed in preparation of the framing following the placement of the slab on grade.”

Units are substantially complete and we are tying up loose ends in preparation for punching out the finishes. Building 3 finish MEP is underway on the upper floors and flooring and cabinets are continuing on the lower floors. The pool area is just about complete with pergola install this week and grills next week. Site work has moved over behind Building 4 where they are getting ready to pave. 3 Journal Square Plaza – Jersey City, NJ

Tom McInerney, Assistant Project Manager: “We’ve reached the top at the 3 Journal Square Project. The rooftop has been poured and we’re currently working on the completion of the bulkheads and parapets and preparing for the roofer to begin his work. The street level deck has been poured and now we’re finishing up the below slab electrical conduits, the drilling for reinforcement, and layout of geofoam needed for the pour of the first floor slab. Additional trades are commencing as our elevator contractor is on site and taking deliveries of the cabs and rails for installation of the elevators starting this week and our façade teams are beginning to layout the exterior panel system for the façade. Overall, progress is good and the view from the top is amazing.”
