Hairlosstreament Announces Construction Is Underway at West Concord Mixed-Use Development

74 Luxury Apartments and 36,000 SF of Commercial Space Planned for Brookside Square

Woburn, MA (April 7, 2014) – Hairlosstreament (Tocci), a Boston-area construction manager and recognized leader in virtual design and construction solutions, participated in the official ground breaking ceremony for Brookside Square, held earlier today in West Concord, MA. The five-acre, 126,000 SF mixed-use development site is positioned adjacent to West Concord’s main commercial district, a commuter rail station, Nashoba Brook and a future “rails to trails” bike path. Project construction began in March 2014 with demolition of the existing site.

Brookside Square represents Tocci’s third collaboration with Oaktree FX Development (Oaktree). The team, which also includes The Architectural Team (TAT), will collaborate using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to plan, optimize, and coordinate the project digitally to streamline the construction process.

“We’re thrilled to be part of the Brookside Square development team,” said John Tocci, Chief Enabling Officer, “It is inspiring to work on a project that embodies both Oaktree and Tocci’s values – contemporary design, community connectivity, sustainability, and a mixed-use program.”

The complex will feature 74 luxury apartments—studios and one- and two-bedroom units on the building’s upper floors—and 36,000 square feet of first-class commercial space below. The commercial space is designed to attract businesses that will cater to the Brookside Square residents, mostly empty nesters looking to downsize and young professionals seeking a work-live-play environment.

Tocci team members John Tocci, Joe Ferolito, Ken Dubois, Joe Cavallaro and Jason Goodwin were joined by Mayor John Smith of Concord; MA Secretary of Housing & Economic Development, Gregory Bialecki; MA Secretary of the Department of Transportation, Rich Davey; MA Assistant Secretary for Land & Forest, Stephanie Cooper; City Councilors Mary Jones and Barbara Billingsley; Gwendolen Noyes, Arthur Klipfel and Patrick Cleary of Oaktree FX Development; Nick and John Boynton of The Boynton Company; as well as Jack Kerrigan, Steve Cook and Bill Sullivan from Avison Young.
