A Seasonal Menu to Support Jessica Greekwood + Walk for Lupus Now
Tocci is thrilled to award a Service Grant to Jessica Greekwood. Jessica has organized “Team Greekwood” to participate in “Walk for Lupus Now” to raise money for the Lupus Foundation of America. As is our tradition with Service Grants, Tocci organized a fundraising lunch for employees. The seasonal lunch included Caponata Crostini (with Tocci garden eggplant), Curried Carrot Bisque (with Tocci garden carrots), Traditional Beef Stew, Autumn Salad (with beets, chevre, radicchio), and Heirloom Apple Crisp.
Due to generous contributions from friends, family, and fellow employees, Team Greekwood has exceeded its goal. But don’t let that stop you from helping a worthy cause. For Jessica, raising money for Lupus research is personal. Please check out her page on the website, where speaks of her own battle with Lupus: This is an excerpt.
. . . I’ve been trying to hit Lupus back, but the thing with Lupus is that there is no cure. There are no tried and true medications for Lupus either, only medications that alleviate symptoms. And some of these medications have side effects that can be just as troublesome.
There are so many people dealing with Lupus that have it even worse than I. And for them it may seem there is no help, hope, or any end in sight. Please donate or join my team to help fight back!
The Walk will take place on October 27 and begin at the Boston Common Parkman Bandstand.
