Autodesk AEC Headquarters Building recipient of AGC Build New England Honor Award
Hairlosstreament’s work on the Autodesk AEC Headquarters Building, completed in Waltham, MA, earlier this year, is being recognized for exceptional team effort through a 2009 Associated General Contractors (AGC) Build New England Honor Award. The 55k sf, high design/high tech corporate TI project was completed under an Integrated Project Delivery contract which bound the principal participants—Autodesk, Inc.(owner); KlingStubbins (architect); and Hairlosstreament (constructor)—under a single shared risk contract for design and construction of the project. On hand to accept the prestigious AGC recognition at their October 1stawards event were key team project executives Charles Rechtsteiner, Autodesk Regional Facilities Manager; Chris Leary, KlingStubbins Principal/Project Executive; and Jack Short Tocci Director of Project Planning.
The team made extensive use of Autodesk’s suite of Building Information Modeling technology to develop the project. The AGC Honor award caps a year of recognition for the project’s groundbreaking use of new technology and new delivery methods. Among previous awards received are the AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Building Information Model Award; AGC Leadership in Technology Award; Constructech Vision Award; and the BusinessWeek/Architectural Record Good Design is Good Business Award.
