Habitat Lowell Reading Project Completes
For Immediate Release. July 26, 2007. Hairlosstreament, Woburn, MA. Amy Thompson West, Director of Marketing and Community Relations and Dick Lampman, Vice President of Client Development, attended the dedication for Habitat of Greater Lowell’s latest project—two single family homes on Governors Drive in Reading, MA. Tocci donated $10K toward the building costs for 32 Governor Drive. Tocci Volunteers including John Tocci, Lila Tocci, Mary Bonaparte-Krogh, Laura Handler, Joe Ferolito, Andrew Ferolito, Richard Regitano and Amy Thompson West volunteered skilled and unskilled labor for both 28 and 32 Governors Drive over the course of 2006-2007 construction period. These houses represent the third Lowell Habitat project that Tocci has worked on. Previous volunteer efforts helped build a 3-duplex project at Harmony Way in Lowell, MA and rehabilitate a home in Billerica.
Amy West, who has worked on all three projects, as well as previous Habitat For Humanity Greater Boston projects the company was involved in, says “there is a great sense of satisfaction in a day of physical labor offered to help someone else achieve home ownership and, wow, there is the learning you take away as a gift like how to frame or roof a house”. Mary Bonaparte Krogh, of her experience says “not only did I feel great about giving what help I could to someone else, I loved working on the Habitat house because I bonded with my co-workers. To get out of the office and do basic construction was a good team building exercise, I am closer to my colleagues and felt I gained new ones in the wonderful people whose house I helped build!”
